ESPN 'Sports Center' Brock Lesnar Announcement: Re-Signs with WWE, Retires From UFC [VIDEO]

On Tuesday, Brock Lesnar created a stir on Sports Center when he spoke of his status regarding WWE and UFC. His interview with ESPN personality Michelle Beadle was in the vein of Lebron James' Decision with the difference being Lesnar announced he was staying home with WWE and will be retiring from the octagon.

Lesnar said the toughest part of retiring from the UFC was leaving with a losing streak. The competitor in him made him want to stay but realistically, he didn't want to risk permanent physical damage. In an age where concussive research has revealed head injuries can impair a person for life, this may have been the best case scenario for the former champ.

UFC fans will remember Lesnar, the most dominant fighter with a 5-3 record, as the guy who knocked out Randy Couture in less than three minutes to win the UFC Heavyweight Championship. When healthy Lesnar was as fierce as Mike Tyson in the prime of his boxing career but sadly bouts of diverticulitis sidelined him for good.

Lesnar's announcement came as a surprise as a re-signing of this magnitude leaks to the net immediately. That wasn't the case though. The paperwork was finalized Monday night and they were able to keep this under wraps for more than a day.

The re-signing may create an atmosphere of ease between he and fans this Sunday at Wrestlemania 31 when he defends the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns since they know he's here to stay. Reigns, the storyline's baby face, is heading into the match hated by fans but Lesnar, the heel, will surely be beloved.
