CW's 'The Flash' Ep 17 Spoilers: Will Grant Gustin's Barry Allen Save John Wesley Shipp From 'Tricksters?' [WATCH]
The CW network has announced a new DC Comics super villain making their way onto The Flash. In episode 17, will Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) be able to save his father, Henry Allen (John Lesley Shipp) from Jesse James (Mark Hamill) and his "Tricksters?"
In our previous recap, while the Weather Wizard (Liam McIntyre) kidnapped Joe West (Jesse L. Martin), Cisco revisited the scene when he first met the Reverse-Flash, discovering a holographic projection. With the truth out in the open, Wells revealed his real name is Eobard Thawne, a distant relative of Eddie (Rick Cosnett). Though Eobard thought of Cisco as a son, he still had to kill him. With Cisco lying dead on the floor, the Flash suddenly found himself running backwards in time, a day before these events happened.
In our recent recap, while the Weather Wizard was captured the timeline was reset, Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell) made their way back, along with Golden Glider (Peyton List). After torturing Cisco's brother, Captain Cold discovered the secret identity of The Flash. The scarlet speedster promised to go after Cold and his Rogues harder, if they killed any of his family members or friends.
As we previously mentioned, the Star Wars actor was returning as The Trickster. Joe and Barry need his help when a copycat terrorist has been planting bombs all across their city. But things aren't what they seem.
In an interview with Comic Book, Hamill describes stepping into the role again " So I didn't want to show up and ruin a series I liked, and that's the danger. But I thought, "Well, if it's really terrible, it's only one episode so they can survive me." But yeah, it was terribly intimidating until I got there. Once you get into the spirit of it, it's like slipping into a comfortable pair of tennis shoes."

The Flash showrunner, Andrew Kreisberg, discusses writing the reunion of the original The Flash stars, "Well, I knew there was no point in doing this if we didn't have Mark and John in a scene together. Early on, it was one of the things that we said, early on when we were constructing the story, that The Trickster should kidnap Henry because it was a great way to satisfy both the fan in all of us but also you want Barry to really care about The Trickster."

The Flash continues Tuesdays on the CW at 8pm.
