Rolling Stones Announce Zip Code Tour: Will Play San Diego, Dallas, Atlanta and Buffalo This Summer
For the first time in eight years, the Rolling Stones will be touring in the United States. Their 15-city Zip Code Tour will begin May 24 at Petco Park in San Diego, and the group will finish July 15 at Quebec's Le Festival D'été de Québec. If you'd like to go to the North American shows, the tickets go on sale April 13. Some other major stops include Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Atlanta's Bobby Dodd Stadium, Pittsburgh's Heinz Field and Detroit's Comerica Park. The last stop in the U.S. will be Buffalo, and that will be the final show until Quebec.
"We are excited to be back in North America playing stadiums this summer," Mick Jagger said in a statement. "We are looking forward to being back onstage and playing your favorite songs."
The singer added in a promo video for the tour: "People say, 'How come you're still doing this?' but I can't believe I did this when I was 20."
The Zip Code Tour will coincide with the 1971 re-release of their album Sticky Fingers May 26, so it makes sense that the Rolling Stones go on tour with this particular album reissue because most of the hits they play on stage come from Sticky Fingers. If you're lucky enough to go, you'll probably end up hearing "Brown Sugar," "Wild Horses," "Dead Flowers," "Bitch" and "Can't You Hear Me Knocking."
As for the album, not only will it have all the above-mentioned songs, but you'll also get to hear a new rendition of "Brown Sugar" featuring Eric Clapton and unreleased versions of "Bitch," "Can't You Hear Me Knocking," "Dead Flowers" and an acoustic version of "Wild Horses." There will also be super rare versions of a 1971 London Roundhouse performance.
