Katy Perry New Pixie Cut: April Fool's Joke or Following Bestie Kris Jenner's Lead? [PHOTOS]

With April 1 comes a ton of harmless, and at times harmful, pranks, but while the world's trying to tell whether or not those engagement or pregnancy announcements are real or not, Katy Perry is getting in on the fun. The prismatic singer took to her Instagram page earlier today, April Fools' Day, to post a picture of what looks like a new pixie haircut, which is a change from her generally longer locks. So has her new bestie Kris Jenner rubbed off on her and influenced her new hairdo, or is Katy pulling an April Fool hoax on all her fans?

The star posted the new hair selfie to her Instagram account earlier today with the caption, "I asked for the Kris Jenner."

While we aren't sure whether to believe Katy's new hair transition, as it is the day of the joke, we wouldn't be completely surprised, as the "Dark Horse" beauty is known for changing up her signature raven locks from time to time. The star has dyed her hair pretty much every color in the Prism, from purple to green and even blue, in the past.

Maybe Kris told Katy that shorter locks are more manageable during one of their many girl dates, as the two have been spending a lot of time together. Jenner just recently uploaded a picture to her Instagram page earlier this week after the two went out to dinner with Karl Lagerfeld, Dakota Johnson, Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid in the Big Apple.

In the sideways selfie, Kris wrote, "Yep @katyperry... Lady Liberty is 100% photo bombing us! Best Night in NYC! Thanks for an amazing night and dinner @karlagerfeld #bestnightever #Chanel #family."

If it doesn't end up being an April Fools' joke, it seems her fans are already on board with the cut, as she already gotten more than 574,000 likes on the picture.
