'Daredevil' Spinoff: Will Thomas Jane's Frank Castle, The Punisher, Get His Own Marvel's Netflix Show? [WATCH]

With Marvel's Daredevil just a week away from premiering on Netflix, comic book fans are anxious to see more of their favorite Marvel heroes get their own series. After having been played by Thomas Jane on the big screen, will Frank Castle aka The Punisher get his own Daredevil spinoff.

As we previously mentioned, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) was a young boy when he was struck blind after a near fatal car accident. Though everyone thinks he lives in complete darkness, radioactive chemicals have given him back his sight. By day, Murdock pretends to be a blind lawyer attending courtroom battles. But when darkness falls, Daredevil serves out his own brand of justice protecting Hell's Kitchen against crime.

In the comics, during writer Frank Miller's critically acclaimed run, the Punisher and Daredevil collided in the crime drama crossover, Child's Play. When drug smugglers started using kids to sell their shipment, the two vigilantes were reluctant to work together. Due to their own reasons, Frank wanted the drug smugglers dead, but Matt wanted them to feel justice in court.

In an interview with SciFiNow, showrunner Steven DeKnight states he would love the Marvel anti-hero to have his own show, "I've been a huge fan of the Punisher comics for years. I'd love to see him get his due on a platform like this. Nothing would delight me more than to see the Punisher get his own show and maybe we could convince Marvel to go Hard-R rating. If any character deserves an R rating, it's the Punisher."

Cox adds, "Steven DeKnight said that Daredevil is one bad day away from being the Punisher. I thought that was really helpful. Again, it adds to the dark tone, and I think it's more interesting to watch."

If Marvel's Daredevil gets a second season, will The Punisher possibly show up? Only time will tell.

Marvel's Daredevil premieres on Netflix on April 10.
