George R.R. Martin might be the greatest and most successful writer of this generation. Between the Game of Thrones book series and HBO television show, nobody has put out bigger hits than him. To put it lighty, he's a content machine. This is why it only makes sense that he continues his dominance in the television realm. His new show, Captain Cosmos, will be debuting soon and it revolves around a science fiction writer living in 1949 who is alive during the beginning of the dawn of the television age.

As of now, the show is in its earliest work. The first step is to write out the pilot and Martin's show already has a writer. That's writer and co-executive producer for SyFy's Z Nation, Michael Cassutt. Cassutt has written for the revived Twilight Zone from 1985 and the Max Headroom series on ABC. If anybody is fit to write a Martin series, this might be the guy.

Any fans wanting more news on Captain Cosmos from Martin shouldn't expect too much coming from the Thrones' writer's mouth. According to Martin, he is dialing back on appearances in order to work on the Winds of Winter book. Captain Cosmos will surely add to his heavy-duty resumè that's keeping him busy.

If you can't get enough of Martin and don't want to sit idly by for Captain Cosmos or the new Winds of Winter to come out, Season 5 of Game of Thrones is almost here. On April 12, the new season begins. The book will take material from A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons. Much of the show was shot in Northern Ireland and in parts of the University of Osuna. Coming back for this season are Tyrion Lannister, Jon Snow, King Stannis Baratheon, Sansa and Arya Stark, Ramsay Bolton and Lady Olenna Tyrell.
