'RHONY' Carole Radziwill Vs. Aviva Drescher: Talks Fired Housewife, Season 7 & Dramatic New Episodes
Real Housewives of New York star Carole Radziwill is about to make her return to the TV screen as season seven of the hit Bravo series gets ready to debut tomorrow, but before that happens the Upper East Side resident princess is spilling all the tea on the new season. Radz even ended up talking about her relationship with former co-star Aviva Drescher now that Bookgate has had time to cool down.
The star opened up to E! News, where she dished about all things RHONY, including why she almost didn't return for her third go around.
"Last year was toxic for a lot of us," the housewife told the news site, adding, "It was just more obvious with me, but it wasn't a great environment. It got very nasty and dark."
She also explains that the viewers weren't as receptive to the dark theme of last year and the producers decided to make a change, adding more light into the show for season seven.
"Clearly the audience was not into that. This year it's more Shakespearean. It's highs and lows with a thread of comedy going through the whole thing," Carole explained, adding that there are dramatic moments as well. "There are a lot of women, first of all, and there's a lot of emotion. A lot of crying — even I cried! Emotions ran really deep and it was real. But then there were really fun times, too!"
As for Carole's old nemesis Aviva, the star explained that her departure really helped set a new tone for the show, one that has been well received by the cast.
"I think the audience is relieved," Radziwill explained of Aviva's exit from the show. "I think it's probably best for her not to be on television. She doesn't do herself any favors. I'm sure in her real life, off camera, she's doing well."
