'The Vampire Diaries' Nina Dobrev Quits on Instagram: Twitter Reactions, Cancel Season 7, #CancelTVD
It's the end of an era -- at least as TVD fans know it. Star of the series Nina Dobrev has just announced that she's calling it quits on the CW supernatural drama. That's right: Since fans learned the news earlier today, April 7, they have been going through the five stages of grief, and for some reason we feel like they'll be stuck in the mourning phase for a while. While Dobrev has starred on the show since the beginning, she is the second original cast member to leave this year, following Steve R. McQueen's exit in February. We guess Mystic Falls has seen the last of the Gilbert clan. According to CNN, the star will be leaving the series at the end of the sixth season, which is currently airing. Twitter reactions have called for the cancellation of Season 7. Nina took to her Instagram account to say farewell to the series by posting a picture of her and executive producer Julie Plec from what she explained was her goodbye party.
"I wanted to be the first to tell you it wasn't just a holiday celebration, it was a goodbye party," the star explained in her lengthy caption. "I always knew I wanted Elena's story to be a six season adventure, and within those six years I got the journey of a lifetime. I was a human, a vampire, a doppelganger. I got kidnapped, killed, resurrected, tortured, cursed, body-snatched, was dead and undead, and there's still so much more to come before the season finale in May."
With this news, all the loyal Vampire Diaries fans have been freaking out and have taken to Twitter to vent. We found some of the best reactions to Dobrev leaving the series and are posting them for your viewing pleasure below.
