Emraan Hashmi Compares 'Mr. X' to 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' - Bollywood vs Marvel Superheroes?
Bollywood is about to take on Hollywood. Actor Emraan Hashmi is coming after one of the most successful movie franchises in recent history as the Mr. X star explains that he feels that his movie could take on the Marvel superhero powerhouse. While the actor says he doesn't want the two films to be compared to each other, he explains that his film has more heart then that of the blockbuster.
According to Times of India, the flick tells the story of an invisible man, played by Emraan, who goes around seeking revenge on those who has done him wrong in the past. Just think of it like a Bollywood version of the horror flick, Hollow Man.
While it is clear that the Avengers and Mr. X are two completely different projects, the star is opening up today, saying that what makes this movie standout from the big budget Hollywood productions is the amount of heart and deep roots that the flick has within the Bollywood culture.
"I think those (Hollywood superhero) scripts don't have the stories of Krishna and Arjun (as shown in Mr. X)... the story of Mr. X is deeply rooted in our culture," the actor explained while on tour promoting the movie.
However, when it comes to the Avengers, the star believes that his new flick is so good that it could rival that of the Hollywood super flick, according to India Today.
"I wouldn't really want to put Mr. X into comparison with superhero films like Avengers," the star said before comparing the two. "I think with the story, with the emotional base and with the philosophy that the film has, it could also take on Avengers."
The flick hits theaters on April 17.
