Rumors have it that pro dancer Cheryl Burke may be jumping ship in the ABC reality show world - the star of the hit dance competition "Dancing with the Stars" may be the newest leading lady on the popular reality dating show, "The Bachelorette." According to inside sources, the 28-year-old "DWTS" champ has been "in talks" with producers and is currently in the running to be the next "Bachelorette" - show creators believe that Burke would be a very good choice for the upcoming season 9.

A source close to the show's production team tells RadarOnline, "Cheryl has been in talks with producers to be the next Bachelorette and they think she'd be a really good choice." Another source reveals that Burke has indeed met with the head honchos at ABC to discuss taking part in some sort of reality show other than "DWTS" - whether or not "The Bachelorette" is a serious contender is still unknown. Still another source insists to E! Online that Burke is the one who really wants to do the show - ABC really has no serious interest in casting her for the part.

Looks like fans will have to wait and see - the new "Bachelorette" probably won't be cast until Spring 2013.

Burke is a fan favorite on the hit reality series "Dancing with the Stars" - she was the first female professional to win the show and the first professional to secure two consecutive wins. The pro dancer won season 2 with 98 Degrees cutie Drew Lachey, and proved victorious in season 3 with Emmitt Smith. Her and Smith are currently competing in season 15, "DWTS: All-Stars."

Burke wouldn't be a bad contender to star in the hit reality dating series - in 2011 she released an autobiography entitled "Dancing Lessons," where she opens up about being molested by a family handyman at age 6. The molester was eventually sentenced to 22 years in prison and was recently released - Burke is still fearful of the man. The successful reality show starlet needs a loving, leading man in her life!

Burke was spotted getting cozy with NHL player Joffrey Lupul over the summer, but looks like things didn't work out for the pair.
