Israel David's Delivery: Jill and Derick Dillard Say, 'Not Everything Went as Expected' [WATCH]

The Dillards are probably getting used to a crying son. MStars News has learned that Jill (Duggar) and her husband, Derick Dillard welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Israel David Dillard into the world on Monday, April 6.

Since birth, MStars News has been keeping up with the new addition of the 19 Kids and Counting family. We learned that baby Israel weighed a "whopping 9 pounds," and was 11 minutes shy of being two weeks over due, when he was born at 11:49 pm.

Despite the joyous occasion we have also learned that there were some kind of complications and as a result, Jill gave birth to her son in a hospital instead of birthing him at home as planned.

In the video clip below, Jill and Derick open up about their new bundle of joy!

As baby Israel starts to yawn, his father greets viewers and says: "Hey everybody, it's Derick and Jill Dillard. We've got an exciting birth announcement." The new mother Jill chimed in and says, "We're so excited to announce the birth of our son, Israel David Dillard."

"He was born last night, April 6, 2015 at 11:49 pm," Derick revealed. "He weighs a whopping 9 pounds and 10 ounces and he was 23 inches in length," Jill said, revealing that "Not everything went as expected, so we were reminded of the verse that the Bible talks about 'where man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.'"

"We were encouraged by that, and he's just a handsome little fella," she notes!

Jill and Derick also revealed that Israel's birth will be aired on TLC on May 5.

"Yeah!!! Our sweet new grandson, Israel David Dillard is here. We love him so much already and we love his name!" Michelle and Jim Bob wrote on their blog. "Our Jill is doing wonderful and Derick seems to have a permanent smile on his face now! Israel is precious and his arrival is just another reminder of how very precious life is and how every child is a gift from God. We are happy grandparents!"
