Diane Sawyer Drunk During Election Night: Popping Pills & Sipping Wine On PrimeTime Live In The Past [ Raw Video]

During Tuesday night's election coverage, Diane Sawyer drew in speculation that she was drunk after after slurring her speech and showing erratic behavior. Since then, footage from that evening has gone viral as well as old footage of the respected anchorwoman drinking wine and taking pills behind the anchor desk.

According to RadarOnine, the raw footage of Sawyer was during the time she co-anchored on ABC's Primetime Live between 1989 and 1998. Sawyer is seen drinking red wine while fixing her hair talking to her producer through her ear piece. She then reaches in her bag to grab pills and took it down with her wine before going on air.

Sawyer began to read some lines to herself from her script as she mingled with the crew about an unidentified person saying, "I said, too bad she's crazy," while making drinking and drug use gestures.

Immediately after the election coverage, Diane Sawyer became a trending topic and celebrities began tweeting:

Josh Groban tweeted, "I'll have what Diane Sawyer is having."

Real Housewives of New Jersey tweeted Albie Manzo tweeted,"Diane Sawyer is waaaaaaassted right now."

In her defense New York Times' Brian Stelter said,"she gets this way when she's really tired."

Tired or not, this footage seems to be showing a different light. However, in her defense it was only a couple of sips, and there's nothing illegal drinking behind a desk while of age.
