Sabra Hummus Recall! Listeria Bacteria Contaminates 30,000 Cases of Dips & Spreads

Oh no... not our hummus! It's being reported that the famed hummus manufacturer Sabra Dipping Company has recalled about 30,000 cases of hummus, which may or may not have been infected with Listeria. The recall was a mandatory one, perhaps done just in case they hear a couple of their clients were feeling a bit woozy from a certain bacteria.

According to reports from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, a "routine sampling of Sabra hummus" that was collected last month showed positive signs of Listeria. The report did say, however, that the bacteria has "no evidence" of causing anyone to become ill.

So, well, that's good. Looks like if you're wondering whether or not you can eat that hummus tucked away in your fridge... maybe you're good to go?

Well, maybe not.

The Huffington Post notes that three people died earlier this month in a hospital from becoming sick with Listeriosis, after having been in the hospital for other reasons.

Okay, safe bet – toss away that Sabra Hummus and just make your own, folks!

How? Easy! Take a look at a recipe for some good old-fashioned hummus here.

Or, you know, just have some chips and salsa.

Below is a recent tweet from the Sabra company, in which they further explain their reasoning behind the recall.
