Fox's 'Gotham' Ep 19 Spoilers: Will Ben McKenzie, Milo Ventimiglia, Robin Lord Taylor Witness Barbara's Death? [WATCH]
The Batman prequel, Gotham, returns from hiatus on Fox with all-new episode. In Episode 19, Beasts of Prey, Will Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie), Penguin/Oswald Copplepot (Robin Lord Taylor) discover Barbara Kean (Erin Richards)'s "throat slit" by The Ogre (Milo Ventimiglia)?
In our previous recap, Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) discovered he was being kept inside an abandoned hospital. Working for someone higher than him, the Office Manager (Jeffrey Combs) is harvesting body parts for the black market. Not wanting to be another of his victims, Fish stabbed herself with a spoon, gouged out her eye, and stepped on it before passing out.
In our recent recap, while Fish met the man in charge, The Dollmaker (Colm Feore), Penguin (Taylor) helped Gordon (McKenzie) get rid of the evidence Police Commissioner Loeb had on Bullock (Donal Logue). While Fish discovered she was on an island thousand of miles away from Gotham, Bullock warned Gordon about fulfilling Penguin's favor.
According to TV Line, Barbara (Richards) is prominently featured into the upcoming Ogre storyline. With Gordon on the hunt for the killer, the estranged lovers will be reunited in "less-than-ideal circumstances."
Showrunner Bruno Heller dishes that Leslie Thompkins (Morena Baccarin) and Barbara will meet, "Yes, they are going to meet in Episode 22 - and it's a corker! Those two have several agendas they need to work their way through."
In an interview with Comic Book Resources, McKenzie describes the serial killer, "The Ogre is a serial killer who seduces, kidnaps, tortures and kills women in the never-ending pursuit for a partner. He finds these women and let's just say they don't meet to his exacting standards. He's a true psychopath. He's remained at large for years because he protects himself. Any cop who takes on his case, the Ogre targets the loved ones of that cop. The cop will end up with his wife's throat cut, his girlfriend dead and things like that. So, no cop touches it. It's basically become a dirty little secret of the GCPD."

The Southland actor adds, "Jim, when he ends up in contact with the case, and he ends up with it in an interesting way, he's a hero and can't put it down. For him, not to pursue the case would be to have the blood of future victims on his hands. So, he's put in a perilous position where he knows that the women in his life could be targets. It creates a strain in his relationship with Thompkins [Morena Baccarin]. It will have dire consequences moving forward."
Gotham returns to Fox Monday at 8pm.
