Facebook Barack Obama Slur Cost Woman Job, Earns Threat Calls, Secret Service Visit
The brewing problems for Denise Helms from her President Barack Obama slur seem to be far from over.
The young lady who has been hogging the limelight for suggesting that the President "maybe assassinated" has sparked a nationwide outrages, besides promoting the federal investigating agency to take her remarks quite seriously.
"Loose talk can cost lives," it was little too late before 22-year-old Denise Helms, a former employee of Cold Stone Creamery, understood this phrase. She got fired from her job for posting such remarks which may border on the criminal.
Cold Stone Creamery via Twitter said that it has sacked Denise Helms for her remarks saying that her comments were "outrageous, completely unacceptable."
"This employee is no longer w/the company. Her comments are outrageous, completely unacceptable & in no way reflect our views," the American ice cream parlour tweeted in repose to a user.
Denise Helms took to social media sites like Facebook saying: "And another 4 years of the (n----) Maybe he will get assassinated this term..!!" The controversial post immediately earned her an official visit from the US Secret Service.
Helms said her remarks were wrong, while contending that it just came out and was unintentionally. Talking to Fox40.com, she said: "I think I was just really upset, and (the post) just kind of came out," Helms. She also denied the allegations that she is a racist.
Helms claimed that since her remakes started making headlines she has received a sting of threats and she has sought the police department help to deal with the threatening calls.
According to reports, any remark against the President's life is a crime according to the law. The federal agency, which was investigating into her remarks, was yet to determine the charges against the young lady, if any.
However, Helms was not the first to make such controversial remarks on the President. Earlier, real estate mogul Donald Trump and rocker Ted Nugent took to the social site criticising Obama and people who voted for him.
