Rihanna Wants Kids: Singer Tells Ellen DeGeneres About Her Family Plans
With her pop superstardom and glamorous lifestyle, Rihanna has a pretty full plate these days. But the Barbados born singer told Ellen DeGeneres that she is "absolutely" planning to settle down with a husband and children.
Rihanna stopped by "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Wednesday, and the pair got chatting about Rihanna's personal life and her family plans for the future. When DeGeneres asked if she hopes to have children someday, Rihanna gave a firm yes.
"Yes, eventually. I mean, absolutely," she said.
DeGeneres kept the line of questioning going and asked if the "Diamonds" singer would prefer to raise a family by herself or with the help of a spouse.
"Would you do it alone or do you want to wait until you're in a relationship or married?" the host asked.
"I mean, I would prefer to have a full family," Rihanna answered. "I'm pretty sure I could handle it if I had to on my own, but that's not what I'm striving for."
DeGeneres also pressed the singer on who she is dating right now, but Rihanna didn't reveal anyone specific. Instead, she offered up an example of her idea of a great date.
"My favorite thing to do would just be to stay on the couch and watch TV or in bed and watch TV," she said.
When asked about her favorite show to catch when she's relaxing with the TV, the Barbados beauty gave an interesting answer.
"I love [the reality show] Breaking Amish right now," Rihanna replies.
With all the talk about lazy days on the couch, DeGeneres observed that it sounds like dating Rihanna could be pretty simple.
"So you're a cheap date," Rihanna said. "No one has to spend any money. They don't have to take you to dinner. They don't have to do anything. They just have to hang out with you on a couch."
