Miley Cyrus & Patrick Schwarzenegger 'Taking A Break' Following Spring Break Cheating Rumors
Miley Cyrus and Patrick Schwarzenegger are officially over. On Monday afternoon, E! reported that Cyrus and Schwarzenegger decided to "take a break" from their relationship, according to "multiple sources" exclusive to the site. As of Monday night, however, new information surfaced that suggests a more permanent split for Cyrus and Schwarzenegger. A source close to the former couple reportedly confirmed to People, "It's not a break. It's done. They're just in two different places in their lives - he's in college and she's focused on her music and career."
"By all accounts, the split is amicable," People reports, adding that "reps did not immediately respond for comment." Cyrus and Schwarzenegger's breakup hardly comes as a surprise. Following rumors that Schwarzenegger cheated on Cyrus with a fellow USC student on spring break in Mexico, it seemed to be only a matter of time before the couple finally split up. According to People, "a source close to the couple" revealed that Cyrus and Schwarzenegger was allegedly "trying to work through the rough patch" fueled by cheating rumors, and the pair was reportedly spotted out together on more than one occasion.
After photos of Schwarzenegger appearing to get close with another girl on spring break surfaced last March, a breakup seemed inevitable. Schwarzenegger tried to shut the cheating rumors down when he tweeted, "Omg. It's one of my best friends girlfriend...Would NEVER do anything against my GF," but spring break drama seemed to continue to following the couple.
Following the breakup, both Schwarzenegger and Cyrus seem happy to be moving on from the relationship. Schwarzenegger reportedly attended Coachella with friends, and Cyrus seems to be busy at work on new music with Mike Will Made It.
