WWE Rumors: Extreme Rules 2015 Match Card and Predictions

By Andrew Meola | Apr 25, 2015 09:00 AM EDT

WWE will present its Extreme Rules pay-per-view from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois (just outside of Chicago) on Sunday night. The main event features Seth Rollins vs. Randy Orton for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

So without further ado, let's break down the full match card and offer up our predictions for the winners of each bout.

Tyson Kidd and Cesaro (c) (w/Natalya) vs. The New Day (Big E. and Kofi Kingston w/Xavier Woods) for the WWE Tag Team Championship (Pre-Show)

Got all that?

Kidd and Cesaro have been fine champions, but the tag division hasn't had any juice for quite a while now. The New Day have been heeling it up pretty well recently, so it wouldn't be totally shocking for them to win the belts. But the champs haven't been champs all that long, so they keep the titles here.

Winners: Tyson Kidd and Cesaro

Dean Ambrose vs. Luke Harper in a Chicago Street Fight

I have absolutely no idea what WWE is doing with either of these guys anymore in terms of story, but I'm never going to complain about the two of them mixing it up in the ring. Expect loads of crazy weapons and a ton of punishing spots in this one. Ambrose should win, but "should" means nothing in WWE these days.

Winner: Dean Ambrose

Dolph Ziggler vs. Sheamus in a Kiss Me Arse Match

It hurt to type those words.

Ziggler and Sheamus will undoubtedly put on a good match, I just hope Ziggler gets out uninjured. I don't have any particular desire to see either one of these men kiss the other's rear end, so I kind of hope this thing ends in a draw. But if I have to pick a winner...

Winner: Dolph Ziggler (I also have a sneaking suspicion Bray Wyatt will interfere in this match)

Roman Reigns vs. Big Show

I really want to be excited for this match, but I just can't be. Not because I don't like the two participants. It's quite the opposite, in fact. But the story here is recycled and tired and just dull. I want better things for both men.

Winner: Roman Reigns

John Cena (c) vs. Rusev (w/Lana) for the United States Championship

This will be a solid match because of the two men involved, but I would be shocked if Rusev took back the belt. Firstly, freaken' Cena is the champion, which reduces Rusev's odds of victory by a factor of about 100. Secondly, WWE just printed a whole bunch of "Cena as U.S. Champ" merchandise. He ain't losing this belt anytime soon.

Winner: John Cena

Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Bad News Barrett for the Intercontinental Championship

The real story here is if Bryan can even compete given reports of another injury. I won't even predict this one. I just hope he gets and stays healthy.

Nikki Bella (c) (w/Brie Bella) vs. Naomi for the Divas Championship

Naomi replaces the "injured" Paige, who is really leaving for a little while to go shoot a movie. Naomi has been doing some solid heel work in the past two weeks, but Nikki retains here.

Winner: Nikki Bella

Seth Rollins (c) vs. Randy Orton for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a Steel Cage Match

The stipulation here, other than the cage, is that Orton cannot use the RKO. Kane is also the official gatekeeper for the door of the cage, which assures that he will get involved somehow, either to double cross Rollins or to ensure his victory.

Orton picked the cage stipulation to keep out the Authority, so he apparently hasn't seen a WWE cage match in about five years. Either way, Rollins just became champion, so he's not losing the belt here.

Winner: Seth Rollins
