Lil Wayne vs. Waka Flocka Flame Beef, 'Flockaveli 2' New Album Diss? Fake Drake, Kanye West, Jay-Z 'Big Name' Twitter Hype Before 'Underground' 2015 Release [WATCH]
Rapper Waka Flocka Flame's highly-anticipated new album Flockaveli 2 is currently scheduled for a June 1 (2015) release. The "No Hands" emcee hyped the follow-up record on social media over the past several months, even tweeting some awesome hip-hop collaborations. But now according to Flame, such big-name dropping was all just a tease!
In a recent interview with MTV News, the 28-year-old Atlanta native revealed that fellow rappers including Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Drake will actually NOT be featured on the album. Flame explains:
"I don't want big names... It's too early to release my features."
Well, okay then!
Flame's latest release (third studio album Triple F Life: Friends, Fans & Family) was back in 2012. He reveals that it took him three years to finally get thing back in motion. The process was delayed, but for good reason:
"I haven't been in the studio in like nine months... I feel like I want to go to every country and touch the people. Let them realize who I am. I'm not just this guy on Youtube. I feel like I accomplished my goal."
Now, he's ready to impress fans with an "underground" version of Waka:
"I feel like my core fans from the earlier stage of my career... They want to hear that rap. They want the underground Waka... People be like yo your fans changed. I'm like no nigga, they've always been here. My fans are the same. It's just now I know how to touch different crowds now and I just want to put it all together. I don't want to say I'm rapping for the Whites or the Blacks or the Mexicans or Indians. I just want to do one style of music and everybody listen to it."
