'House Of Cards' Season 4 Cast Talks New Episodes, "Big Questions" & More!

The season 3 finale episode of Netflix's hits series, House of Cards has left fans wondering if Frank Underwood can secure the Democratic nomination without his wife, Claire by his side. Heading into the recently announced seas 4 episodes, showrunner Beau Willimon explained that that is definitely one of the big questions to have on your mind. At a special press screening this week, stars Kevin Spacey, Robin Wright and Michael Kelley opened up about the new season!

"A lot of the strength of the show is based on the strength of that marriage. But as soon as we began to explore that, we realized there was no turning back," Willimon said this week, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "We also realized we'd laid the groundwork in the previous two seasons for this conflict between Francis and Claire, the more we began exploring it, the more inevitable it became. And the more exciting it was for us to travel that emotional terrain."

Though he had his own thing going on last season, Doug is back in Frank's life and actor Michael Kelley is excited to get back in the saddle.

"He's obviously far more efficient with Doug by his side," the star said. "I can only hope that next season it'll bring more of a 'let's get some sh** done.'"

Meanwhile, Wright opened up about her hopes to direct more of the episodes for 2016, taken pressure off of her acting in the series.

Spacey, who recently won a Golden Globe for his House of Cards work, spoke about how he viewed his roles as characters, allowing him to not feel too attached to some of Underwood's crazy actions.

"The only way I've been able to go about the work that I do is I don't judge the characters that I play. I try to serve the writing the best as I can," Spacey told the audience. "I don't want to ever make a moral judgment about a character, because I'm afraid if I do that I'll wear that on my sleeve."
