Officer Shot 12 Times: Brian Murphy, Sikh Officer Alive And Talking About August Brush With Death
In August a Sikh shooting almost cost the life of police officer, Brian Murphy who was shot 15 times. The officer was shot by white supremacist wade Michael Page who went on a rampage before killing himself and shooting at Murphy 15 times (3 bullets hit his protective vest).
"I just do what you're supposed to do and that should be reward enough. I was protecting people who went in to worship God,. Maybe that assisted in whomever's intervention to say, 'No - you helped. And we'll help you,'" the humble officer said.
After being shot in the back of his head, Murphy told WISN that he focused on his family and his breathing fighting to stay alive, he said, "The shooter came around again and he fired a bunch more times. At one point -- it was after he hit me in the back of the head -- I just thought, is that not enough? Did you not shoot me enough times?"
The dreadful day sticks in Murphy's head, so much so that he tries to avoid looking back and avoids thinking about the shooter, "My forgiveness has no bearing on the matter and honestly I give him the least amount of thought possible. I don't want to give him any more power than he already took. I just don't. He doesn't deserve it." he said.
