NEW Osama Bin Laden Death Details: Burial Plans Released In Emails By U.S Top Officers: Islamic burial, Body Washed And 'Body Slid Into The Sea'

According to The Associated Press, emails about the death and burial of Osama Bin Laden have been released through the Freedom of Information Act. The emails gave details about the al-Qaida leader's traditional Islamic ceremony.

The internal released indicated that no sailors were present for the burial of Bin Laden. The Associated Press obtained the heavily blacked out emails which were released by the Defense Department on Wednesday about Bin Laden who was assassinated by Navy SEALS in Abbottabad, Pakistan on May 1, 2011.

An email sent by a Navy officer marked secret was sent on May 2, one day after the assassination plot had been executed. The email described the burial procedures where the terrorist's body was washed, wrapped in a white sheet, and placed in a weighted bag before his burial at sea.  

In another email sent from the Vinson's public affairs officer indicated that small ship leaders were notified about the burial, "Traditional procedures for Islamic burial was followed," An email from Adm. Charles Gaouette reads "The deceased's body was washed (ablution) then placed in a white sheet. The body was placed in a weighted bag. A military officer read prepared religious remarks, which were translated into Arabic by a native speaker. After the words were complete, the body was placed on a prepared flat board, tipped up, whereupon the deceased's body slid into the sea."

According to the Associated Press, the email had "cryptic reference " about the secret mission from Gaouette read , "The paucity of documentary evidence in our possession is a reflection of the emphasis placed on operational security during the execution of this phase of the operation." 

The messages were sent to: Adm. Mike Mullen, then the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Gen. James Mattis, the top officer at U.S. Central Command.  More information have been withheld from the media from the Pentagon that do not have nay death certificate or autopsy report with DNA identification for the al-Qaida leader.
