FCBD 2015: DC Comics: 'Divergence' Teases Batman #40 'Endgame' Finale & JL's 'Darkseid War!'
For Free Comic Book Day 2015, DC Entertainment is offering a sneak peek at their upcoming storylines. In DC Comics: Divergence will feature three 8-page previews of what's coming up after the Endgame finale in Batman #40 series, the launch of Justice League's Darkseid War, and a new creative team takes over Superman.
As we previously mentioned, Batman #40 is the conclusion of the story arc, Endgame. The Joker has returned scarier than ever in the sequel to the critically acclaimed Death of the Family. The ultimate showdown between the caped crusader and the clown prince of crime leaves readers with questions.
From the FCBD website, the cover makes you wonder what has happened to the Dark Knight and why has his costume changed? Reminiscent of when Azrael (Jean-Paul Valley) took over as Batman in Knightfall, the Bat-suit is more metallic and covered in armor. Has Batman become meaner and darker in the aftermath of Endgame?

Justice League #40 sets up the prologue to The Darkseid War .And now, the Justice League are in the crossfire as the two biggest baddies in the DC Universe, Darkseid and the Anti-Monitor, face off against each other. Who's side are the Justice League on?
In an interview with Comic Book Resources, writer Geoff Johns reveals Wonder Woman will play an important role, "Even though this story focuses on all the main Justice League players, she's become the main character in it, and I couldn't be more excited about that because it's someone I've never explored in a deep way in a solo book or even in a team book. Digging into that character has been rewarding, and I credit Jay [Fabok] with inspiring me to do that."
Writer Gene Luen Yang makes his debut with renowned artist John Romita, Jr on Superman. But with his newfound powers, is the man of steel a threat to those around him? has he become his own villain?
