After being played on the big screen by former wrestler Dave Bautista, the Drax the Destroyer is getting his own solo title. Former WWE superstar, CM Punk, joins Marvel Comics in writing the new ongoing series starring Guardian of the Galaxy star in Drax #1, scheduled for Fall 2015.

In the plot synopsis, readers get to find out what Drax does when he's not saving the universe alongside the likes of Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket Raccoon and Groot? He actually destorys! In his bone-crunching solo adventure, the galaxy's most fearsome guardian travels from inside the intergalactic octagon to the far reaches of outer space, demolishing everything in his path.

As we previously mentioned, the wrestling superstar made his comic book writing debut in Thor Annual #1. Punk joined artist Rob Guillory (Chew) to bring readers a hilarious tale about the young and boisterous Thor. In the short tale, in order to prove himself worthy to wield the mighty hammer Mjolnir, Thor has the genius idea is to drink all of Asgard and Midgard under the table.

Punk revealed his love for The Punisher in an interview with Marvel, "Oh, I think, my original pitch to Axel Alonso in 2011 was, 'Let me write Punisher.' In my mind, for some odd reason, I've just got this Punisher story in my head, and I think it's super, super awesome. I can read Jason Aaron's Punisher and everybody else's [take on the] character and it's good, but I think that my Punisher story is pretty badass. So everything I do for Marvel is going to be leading up to, 'Please just let me write my Punisher story.'"

It certainly looks like CM Punk is on the right path. No word yet on who will be drawing the interior artwork.

Drax #1 is expected to arrive sometime in Fall 2015!
