The movie adaptation for the popular video game series from Ubisoft, Assassin's Creed has a December 21, 2016 release date, but we haven't heard too much about the project since this premiere was announced. Luckily for us, star Michael Fassbender shared some information regarding filming, which looks like it will start in September of 2015. That gives us a few months of casting rumors and more to get excited about before we really start learning more about the movie. Check out more information regarding this movie news below!

Marion Cotillard was also recently cast in this film.

While promoting his new movie, Slow West this week, Fassbender was asked about Assassin's Creed, which we all know has been in the works for many years. When this is brought up to the actor, he explains that it takes time for such a project to get going and work.

"You say it's a long time but what I've found-it's all new to me but starting to develop scripts and work on them, they take time," he told ComingSoon.net (via UPROXX). "It just takes time to get a good story together and we really want to do it right. It's exciting. It's going to start this year; we'll be filming in September."

Fassbender has been attached to this project for a number of years now, with other projects getting in the way before he could properly start working on it.

When the character of Desmond Miles is brought up, Fassbender plays coy and suggests that nothing is really known yet about the film's plot. Reports claim that he's playing this main character from the game, but now he has us thinking differently!
