Monday Night Raw Results 5/4/15: Dean Ambrose Added to Fatal Four Way for WWE World Heavyweight Championship
The May 4, 2015 edition of WWE's Monday Night Raw emanates live from the Bell Centre in Montreal and begins with Randy Orton.
Orton discusses the Payback name and says it's fitting because he is going to get payback on Rollins in a few weeks. He mentions Roman Reigns and says neither he nor Rollins will stop Orton from winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at the pay-per-view.
Reigns comes out to a chorus of boos and says Payback will go his way. The two argue and Orton points out that he is a 12-time champion, while Reigns has never won the belt. Reigns responds that he beat Orton one-on-one at SummerSlam last year. The two talk some more trash until The New Day comes out. Orton nods along with their theme song!
Xavier Woods says the power of positivity needs to spread throughout Montreal. They antagonize Orton and Reigns and Big E. says Rollins has Orton's number on speed dial. He tries to get Reigns and Orton to clap with the New Day, but they don't do it.
But Reigns and Orton will face The New Day right now! The New Day gets the win when Reigns inadvertently spears Orton after Kofi Kingston dodges out of the way. After the match, Kane books Orton and Reigns against each other in the main event.
Kane walks by New Day backstage until he bumps into Seth Rollins, who is still upset about the Triple Threat at Payback and says The Authority will punish Kane when he returns. In response, he books Rollins against Dean Ambrose for later tonight with J&J Security banned from ringside.
Renee Young is in the ring and introduces Ryback. Renee asks about Bray Wyatt, and Ryback says he is not afraid of Wyatt. He says he has dealt with fear his entire life, and that is what makes him hungry to compete every night. The time for talk is over now, and it's feeding time. Wyatt then appears on the TitanTron and calls Ryback a scared little boy. He tells him everything he loves will fade away in time.
Tyson Kidd and Cesaro defeat The Ascension with their Giant Swing and dropkick combo.
Renee Young interviews Seth Rollins about his match with Dean Ambrose, and Rollins says it's pointless and Kane is a moron.
Kane comes out before the Ambrose vs. Rollins match and says that is Ambrose wins, then he gets to be in the main event at Payback to turn it into a Fatal Four Way. Rollins protests, but Ambrose says that is a fantastic idea. Rollins grabs the mic and says Canada is irrelevant.
Ambrose does indeed win when J&J Security try to get involved, which allows Ambrose to roll up Rollins.
Kane is on the phone backstage when an angry Rollins storms in, but Kane tells him he has a plan.
Byron Saxton interviews Lana about the crowd's reaction to her, but she denies it until Fandango arrives. He leaves shortly thereafter, and an angry Rusev confronts his partner. Rusev then demolishes Fandango in a match.
Stardust rolls up R-Truth for the win.
John Cena comes out to discuss his I Quit match with Rusev at Payback, and he then issues his weekly open challenge for the United States Championship. Bret Hart comes out! The Hitman starts to introduce a supremely talented wrestler, but Heath Slater then comes out. He gets in the ring only for Hart to whack him with the mic.
Bret Hart then continues his introduction: it's Sami Zayn!!!! He and Cena have a fantastic match in which Zayn kicks out of an Attitude Adjustment, but the champ pulls out the win with the springboard Stunner and another AA. After the match, Cena raises Zayn's hand and leaves the ring so the Canadian can enjoy the moment.
Nikki Bella and Brie Bella come out for a match but Naomi and a returning Tamina Snuka attack them from behind. Naomi says the Bellas' reign is over.
Bad News Barrett and Sheamus defeat Dolph Ziggler and Neville when Barrett delivers a Bullhammer to Neville after some interference by Sheamus.
The Authority emerges before the Randy Orton vs. Roman Reigns match and Jamie Noble announces that The Authority will be at ringside with Rollins as guest commentator and the rest as ringside enforcer and timekeeper. The match goes to a no contest when the Authority attacks Orton and Reigns. Ambrose's music hits and the three babyfaces drive off the Authority. But Orton then RKOs Reigns, and Ambrose delivers Dirty Deeds to the Viper to stand tall as the show goes off the air.
