'True Detective' Season 2 Cast, HBO Character Posters: Nic Pizzolatto Teases 2015 Themes, Plot Details
HBO just released some amazing character posters for the upcoming season 2 episodes of the critically acclaimed crime series True Detective, which are sure to get you excited for the June 21, 2015 premiere date! Featuring new cast members Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn, Rachel McAdams and Taylor Kitsch, these gritty character posters really push the "We Get the World We Deserve" tagline. "There's no relationship between the stories or characters, which was the result of fully committing to something new, but I do think that the seasons have a deep, close bond in sensibility and vision, a similar soul, though this is a more complex world and field of characters," Pizzolatto told HBO in a great new interview over on Medium.
When asked about the darker elements of season one, specifically the "gothic horror" motif, Pizzolatto pointed about more differences we can expect this season.
"The gothic horror suggested by Louisiana's coastal landscape didn't feel appropriate in this place," he explained. "These new landscapes have their own unique voice and their own unsettling qualities. While there's nothing occult in this season, I think there's a disconcerting psychology to this world, and its characters have other kinds of uncanny reality with which to contend."
