Monday Night Raw Preview 5/18/15: What's Next for WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins?
The May 18, 2015 edition of WWE's Monday Night Raw will emanate live from the Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Virginia and will feature all the fallout from the Payback pay-per-view last night. The primary question, of course: What's next for WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins?
Rollins retained his title in a Fatal Four Way match with Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, and Randy Orton last night. The match featured a brief Shield reunion, multiple cool spots, and numerous interferences by Kane, who has seemingly decided to line up with The Authority rather than break away from them. To put a cherry on top of everything, Rollins used Triple H's finisher, the Pedigree, to put down Randy Orton and win the match.
So what's next for Rollins and The Authority as a whole? Will any of the other three men in last night's match get another shot at Rollins at the upcoming Money in the Bank pay-per-view? Is Kane truly back in Rollins' corner? Will Triple H weigh in at all?
John Cena retained his United States Championship against Rusev in an I Quit match last night after Lana threw in the towel for her man. On the post-show last night, Cena said he would issue another Open Challenge tonight for the championship. Which Superstar will come out from behind the curtain to take a shot for the belt? And will this man be able to take the title off of the 15-time world champion? Also, what's next for Rusev? With whom does he feud now that his rivalry with Cena has ended?
The New Day retained their Tag Team Championships against Tyson Kidd and Cesaro last night after Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston pulled some trickery to confuse the referee. The team celebrated backstage until they learned that they will defend the titles in the Elimination Chamber at the end of the month. Will we learn the identity of the other teams in the chamber tonight?
Neville earned a win over King Barrett, but it came in underwhelming fashion via a count out. There's no denying Neville's talent or his appeal with the crowd, but at some point he will need to actually speak and give us a reason to get invested beyond the Red Arrow and his array of moves. Will we see that happen tonight? And will he get a new opponent? Or will Barrett continue to harass his fellow countryman?
The Bella Twins lost to Naomi and Tamina Snuka last night, which means a Divas Championship match between Nikki Bella and Naomi is likely in the cards. Will WWE build to that tonight? And will the women actually get time to build it properly?
Bray Wyatt defeated Ryback last night, and word is going around that Big Hungry legitimately suffered a rib injury during the match. Regardless. Bray earned some much needed credibility with the win, and he needs to keep that momentum going. If Ryback is truly hurt, does this mean that Bray will move onto another opponent? And if so, then whom?
Sheamus earned a win over Dolph Ziggler, who got a nasty gash during the match and required stitches afterwards. Each man has a win apiece now in this rivalry, which likely means a rubber match is in the cards at Money in the Bank unless they enter the ladder match for the briefcase. Will Ziggler be on Raw after his facial injury, or will he take a little time to heal?
