LeAnn Rimes Pills: Eddie Cibrian's Ex-Wife Brandi Glanville Claims Son Mistook Songstress' Laxatives for Candy, Got Extremely Sick
Actor Eddie Cibrian's ex-wife Brandi Glanville has always felt some bitterness towards pop-country songstress LeAnn Rimes - and now the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star has even more to fume about considering she accuses Rimes of letting her 9-year-old son get ahold of some laxatives while under his stepmom's care. During a recent interview with Us Weekly, Glanville insists that her young son Mason mistook a laxative lying out openly on the floor as a skittle, and got extremely sick after consuming it. While Rimes' reps deny such accusations, it is the 30-year-old singer's hubby Cibrian that is really lashing out against his own ex-wife's seedy claims.
Glanville's interview with Us Weekly began circulating on the web several days ago, where the reality star states:
"Mason, my eldest, ate some of Le's candies and got extremely ill. And Le's candies are laxatives... Mason told me about it, and then Eddie's assistant, who was working for me at the time, also told me about it out of concern for my children. She has (a laxative) in every purse. Mason found one on the floor and thought it was a Skittle! They don't keep sugar in the house. He thought he finally found candy!"
Glanville then insists that she doesn't believe Rimes is a capable and responsible stepparent:
"I, unfortunately, don't find her to be stable and I don't want her around my kids when Eddie's not there - or at least the nanny, his parents, someone,"
After the story went viral, Rimes' rep released a statement denying such accusations on Wednesday (Dec. 5), claiming that the "LeAnn Rimes pills" accusations are "just more inaccuracies and half-truths." Rimes' husband also released a heated statement to Us Weekly, exclaiming that his ex-wife should put her jealousy behind her for the benefit of their son:
"It is absolutely ridiculous that my ex-wife continues to put the personal lives of myself, LeAnn, our sons and my family on public display for the sake of her notoriety...
My wife, LeAnn, continues to be a loving and positive influence on the lives of my sons... The love they have for their 'bonus mom' continues to grow each day as we navigate the changes to our family; a fact that Brandi cannot argue as she herself has stated as much.
If my ex-wife truly cared about the welfare of our sons, she would stop the constant bashing on an important person in their lives and focus on productive co-parenting to make our blended family the strongest it can be. And she would do so privately. Let's see..."
Rimes and Cibrian met on the set of Lifetime's "Northern Lights" and began a romantic relationship while both were still married (Rimes to dancer Dean Sheremet and Cibrian to Glanville). Rimes has had a rather rough past year - not only did she enter a 30-day rehab program back in August to learn "coping mechanisms" for anxiety and stress, but she was forced to cancel a number of shows in October after being hospitalized for a massive dental infection.
