Old Nintendo Wii Console Sets Colorado Man's RV on Fire? [WATCH]
There was once a time when the Nintendo Wii was one of the more coveted prizes in the gaming industry. With so much promise by Nintendo, fans of the system waited outside in the cold weather for hours to pick the system up. These days its coveted mystique has fallen a bit to the wayside. Especially now, since the Wii U and Nintendo are already looking to replace that new system with another one. The mystique really is gone for one Colorado resident; he blames an RV fire on an old Wii console. According to him, the system nearly destroyed his life.
RV owner Trevor Pellegrin told KKTV that firefighters made the claim that the Wii was the perpetrator in all this. The fire had nothing to do with wiring, he says.
"It started in the actual console of the Wii. "I was coming back from a meeting and a I got a phone call from my neighbor that my camper was on fire," Pellegrin told KKTV. "I was crying, I was screaming, I was still trying to get my things out of there."
Pellegrin went on to criticize the lack of warning labels on the Wii. After watching Netflix before leaving his RV he said he had no idea he had to unplug it. Pelligrin thought it would be okay as-is and having it powered down would cause no problems.
"There's no warning label on that Wii saying unplug after use that it may cause a fire, there's no warning label so I didn't know to do that, to unplug it."
It's sad to think that Pellegrin nearly lost all his worldly possessions to a system that doesn't even want to incorporate Grand Theft Auto in their console. Pellegrin's Xbox was also in the fire but it remained unscathed in the incident.
