Nintendo ‘Splatoon’ & Squid Inkling Amiibo Stolen from Truck Inside British Warehouse ‘GAME’
A few people in the UK are going to be let down in the next few days, especially those who put down the money in anticipation of the new Wii U game Splatoon. Apparently a truck from Nintendo's British warehouse chain GAME was taken from right under everyone's noses. Nobody knows who the perpetrator are; all we know is that they got a truck full of Splatoon and the Squid Inkling amiibos which relate to the game.
Nintendo released a statement regarding the incident. They apologized for the inconvenience and announced the games will indeed be coming out later than anticipated.
"We can confirm that the lorry transporting the Splatoon stock from Nintendo's European warehouse to GAME UK has been stolen," Nintendo said in the statement. "Included as part of this delivery was GAME's allocation of the Splatoon + Squid Inkling amiibo and as a result we are unable to honour pre-orders for this item in GAME. We are working with GAME to contact those customers affected. Whilst these unfortunate circumstances were out of Nintendo UK and GAME's control, we apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment that this has caused."
Anybody whose game or amiibo was stolen from the GAME truck will be offered a discount on their purchases. They'll receive a £10 and if that isn't enough they can cancel their orders at anytime.
Nintendo also says they will be sending out a replacement version of the game first class to ensure the stock reaches their gamers. Not only are the perpetrators unknown, it's unknown whether Grand Theft Auto V will feature DLC content where players can steal Nintendo games from a warehouse.
Do you think the games are gone forever and will end up on the black markets of Ebay and Amazon.
