Love and Hip Hop: New York reality star, Erica Mena says Yandy Smith and Mendeecees's VH1 wedding was a joke. The now much calmer beauty admits that she avoided a TV wedding because she believed it was a much more serious occasion to be aired for millions of viewers to watch.
One fan begged Erica to air the nuptials tweeting, "When is the wedding? Can it be on TV please?"
The 27-year-old responded, "I don't want my wedding to be a joke. Weddings are a serious deal. You only get one!"
Recently, Erica claimed that Yandy was gaining favoritism on the show with positive storylines since she was close friends with the show's creator, Mona Scott-Young. In an interview with Hot 97, Bow Wow's soon-to-be wife, said that her wedding spinoff wasn't lucrative enough for her to start shooting that it was given to her cast mate.
When asked if she was friends with Yandy, she said, "She's cool." As the hosts agreed that Yandy was a likable character Erica explained, "You can't hate on someday that is perfected throughout the season, no matter how bad life is." She added, "People going to jail and she still looks flawless." She explained that she wasn't frustrated, however learned the golden rules of "It's who you know."
"Had I had a BFF that was a producer. When you're on the inside it's easier for you to make things work to your favor," she said.
Yandy responded to the Big Morning Buzz Live denying any favoritism on the show despite her past as a producer of the show, "I have no ends and no says on what gets edited. When I tell you I would of been like, 'Cut that out,' 'I made that ugly face,' 'Oh, my belly looks big!'" She explained, "I have no say, I promise you, no say at all. I'm completely out of that role. I am 100% cast member."
