'Gangnam Style' Psy: Torpedoes Washington with Performance at “Christmas in Washington”

The 34 year-old pop sensation from South Korea, Psy with his now iconic "Gangnam Style" gave a special performance to the nation's first family, The Obama's who were present at the "Christmas in Washington," charity concert at the National Building Museum.

Psy performed for President Obama after news that he had sung a song with anti-American lyrics at a 2004 protest concert. He said it was "an honor" to perform in Washington and regretted the time he sung the anti-American lyrics, the Washington Post reported.

Ever since his video of the "Gagnam Style" came out July 15, with record 917 million views.

Psy was born as Park Jae-sang who came to U.S. to study business at Boston University and music at Berklee College of Music. Psy left for Seoul and started a solo career in 2001.

Psy's "Gangnam Style" makes fun of the Seoul's Gangnam District that is very trendy and with style that Psy does not have.

Psy met the U.N Secretary General and fellow South Korean, Ban Ki-Moon recently. He also performed with Madonna at Madison Square Garden and with Hammer on the American Music Awards.

In 2002, Psy had smashed a model of U.S. Bradley Fighting Vehicle in response for the U.S. vehicle that killed two teenagers near Seoul. In 2004, he also performed a song for the metal band "N.E.X.T" that advocated killing of American soldiers, the Washington Post reported.

"There was huge sorrow all over the country," said Psy over the American military presence. "Explain and express about the sorrow . . . I thought that's kind of part of my job . . . But the specific words that I used, it was too much."

"After that eight, nine years, I have been changed a lot."

"If it's gonna hurt my career or not, that's not important," Psy says. "The most important thing is that as a human being, I really, fully regret the using of [those] kinds of words."

After his performance of the "Oppan Christmas style!" a huge applause fills up reported the Washington Post and Psy says "Thank you."
