Jenni Rivera Plane Dives 28,000 Ft: Singer Filed Divorce From MLB Husband Two Months Before Death, Leaves Five Children Behind [Update]

Esteban's publicist said that the actress was planning on leaving the former baseball player, "private circumstances that occurred during the lapse of their two-year marriage" was the reason for the split. Although, they didn't have children together, Rivera is survived by five children and two grandchildren. 

The Secretary of Communications and Transportation Gerardo Ruiz Esparza told Radio Formula explained how the twin-engine turbojet hit the ground, "The plane practically nose-dived," he said. "The impact must have been terrible." There was explanation for why the plane fell out the sky,  "The plane fell from an altitude of 28,000 feet ... It may have hit a speed higher than 1,000 kph (621 mph)."  Celebrities tweeted their condolences and prayers for Rivrea's children and the families of those who traveled with her:

"My heart breaks for the loss of Jenni Rivera & everyone on the plane," Eva Longoria tweeted. "My prayers go out to her family. We lost a legend today."

Jennifer Lopez also tweeted this message: "So sad!! Praying for Jenni Rivera's children and family and the passengers families."

Mario Lopez posted: "Spent some time with Jenni Rivera recently. What an amazing lady... Cool, smart, funny & talented. Such a travesty... God Bless her family."

Telemundo Media and Mun2 Networks expressed their condolences as well. The actress worked for Telemundo on her popular show, "I Love Jenni" and her passing has come to a surprise to many especially the general manager of Mun 2, Diana Mogollon and President of Telemundo Media, "It is with a heavy heart that both the mun2 and Telemundo Media family mourn the tragic passing of Mexican-American entertainment icon and mun2 star of I Love Jenni, Jenni Rivera. Jenni was one of the most influential, authentic and captivating Latinas in entertainment. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend, who broke through the language barrier and connected with millions of fans in a unique, powerful and lasting way."

Crew members and Riveria's talent team who were lost on the flight frequently traveled with the celebrity and helped her achieve success worldwide,"She was a Grammy-nominated singer, a multiple platinum and gold record award winning artist who performed sold out concerts across numerous countries. She will be greatly missed. Our hearts go out to Jenni's entire family and manager Pete Salgado on her loss and the loss of their team members. Our condolences to the families and friends of the four members of Jenni's team who also lost their lives-Mario Macias, attorney, Arturo Rivera, publicist, Jorge Sanchez also known as La GG, personal stylist, and Jacob Yebale, makeup. Our hearts and prayers go out to all of them."

Shilam Ortiz told E! News,"The whole Latin community is very heartfelt about the situation. It was so unexpected and, you know, she is an icon." 

Rafael Amaya said, "She's going to live forever," he added, "I have no words it took me by surprise. You never know."
