WWE, NXT Star Sami Zayn’s Return from Shoulder Injury in October After Getting Hurt Against John Cena
Before Sami Zayn became the WWe star he is today, he donned a mask on the independents and called himself El Generico. El Generico won him the adulation of fans on the indies, but it wasn't until he became a member of NXT did the Zayn brand take off in a big way. His match with John Cena was one of the biggest debuts in years, but sadly a shoulder injury curtailed his rise to WWE stardom for now. It sucks that Zayn isn't on television right now, but we do have a timetable on his return and he won't be out as long as we imagined. According to Wrestling Inc. Zayn will be returning on October 7, 2015.
The pro wrestling news website says Zayn might be returning at a particular big event.
"After recently having shoulder surgery, Sami Zayn is expected out of action until October," the site says. "WWE has another NXT Takeover special tentatively scheduled for October 7th and more TV tapings on October 8th so Zayn could possibly return then."
On television, WWE's newest star, Kevin Owens has been lauding over his "breaking" of Zayn. Owens said the damage was done in their two matches down in NXT. While this may be the case kayfabe-wise, the latest injury apparently didn't come from Owens at all. Zayn had apparently hurt his shoulder during the entrance of his match against Cena. Zayn had waved his arms a little too hard on the ring steps and that's where the injury happened.
Zayn elected going for surgery and he'll be taking some time off to heal afterward. This is why we won't be seeing him all the way until October - although it isn't as long of an absence as everyone thought it would be. Zayn will be the perfect jolt in a post Summerslam WWE world.
How do you think Zayn will be once he jumps on the main roster?
