Cancelled 'Degrassi' Coming to Netflix with New Episodes, Still no Drake
In this day of entertainment and the Internet, the cancelation of a TV show does not mean that the series is dead. So when the teen drama Degrassi: The Next Generation recently go cancelled, fans held out hope for a series revival somewhere else. We have good news for viewers of the show: Netflix has picked up the cancelled series and will release brand new episodes of the newly titled Degrassi: Next Class in 2016! Unfortunately, Drake will probably not pop up in the new season, but find out more on this story below.

The Hollywood Reporter points out that just a few days after MTV Canada pulled the plug on the Canadian teen drama series after 14 seasons.
"We are immensely proud of Degrassi, and our longstanding partnership with [executive producers] Linda [Schuyler] and Stephen [Stohn]," a statement from CTV's president of sports and entertainment programming, Phil King read, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "We wish the entire Epitome team the best of luck, and look forward to working with them again in the future."
Luckily for fans, this wasn't the end of the iconic series. Netflix this week announced the revival series would premiere next year, via Twitter.
"Degrassi graduates to Netflix. Meet the Next Class, coming in 2016," the streaming service announced on social media this week.
Also, executive producer Stephen Stohn took to Twitter to make sure the fans of his series heard the news. "And now the rest of the story... Degrassi signs to Family Channel in Canada and worldwide on Netflix, Degrassi: Next Class debuts early 2016," he tweeted.
Stohn and his team of producers also released a joint statement addressing this news.
"The series strives to entertain its post-millennial audience, while always reinforcing its core principle: You are not alone," the team said.
