Head of a Washington local chapter of the NAACP, Rachel Dolezal gets attacked by Twitter critics for falsely identifying herself as an African American after her parents released her birth certificate which identifies her as white woman.

In an interview with the Spokane Spokesman- Review Dolezal's mother, Ruthanne Dolezal expressed that her daughter should have been honest to her peers, "It's very sad that Rachel has not just been herself," Ruthanne Dolezal said. "Her effectiveness in the causes of the African-American community would have been so much more viable, and she would have been more effective, if she had just been honest with everybody."
