'Gangnam Style' Psy Grabs a $1.25 million Condo In Los Angeles Near Beverly Hills
The sensational South Korean singer and dancer of the "Gangnam Style," has reportedly spent $1.25 million to buy a condo in the heart of Los Angeles.
The Korean who became an instant hit with his "Gangnam Style" worldwide, used his newfound wealth by purchasing a "2,700 sq. ft. pad in the famous Blair House -- an exclusive 29-story hot spot located near Beverly Hills," TMZ reported.
Psy, 34, whose real name is Park Jae-Sang, released the song "Gangnam Style" as a part of his sixth album "PSY 6 (Six Rules), Part 1," July 2012. By Aug. 14, his song was ranked number one on YouTube's 'Most Viewed Videos'. It also hit the number one spot on iTunes Music Video Charts.
The pop sensation was reportedly very secretive of his real estate deal and had guards surrounding him when he made the transaction wired from South Korea, it was made entirely in cash TMZ reported. The condo has 2-bedrooms and he wants to remodel the place.
It has been rumored that Psy has raked in $7.9 million with the hit song in the past few months. His greatest achievement in life, according to him is the "Gangnam Style."
Psy also apologized for his anti-American 2004 song "Dear Americans." The song contained lyrics about killing Americans and killing them slowly and painfully. The song was written by a Korean rock band as a part of protests after a South Korean translator and Christian missionary was beheaded in Iraq.
"I'm deeply sorry for how these lyrics could be interpreted. I will forever be sorry for any pain I have caused by those words," he said.
Recently Psy met the United Nations' Secretary General and fellow Korean, Ban Ki-Moon in U.N. headquarters. Psy also performed and met President Obama at the Christmas in Washington concert.
