Lostprophets Band Shocked At The Arrest Of Their Lead Singer Ian Watkins For Sexual Offences Against Children

Welsh rock band, Lostprophets is in a state of shock after their lead singer Ian Watkins was arrested by the South Wales police, Dec. 17.

The band members of Lostprophets have responded in a statement on their website, "Following charges made today against Ian Watkins, we find ourselves in a state of shock. We are learning about the details of the investigation along with you. It is a difficult time for us and our families, and we want to thank our fans for their support as we seek answers. Jamie, Lee, Luke, Mike and Stu."

The band's website has been shut down after the scandal.

Watkins has been arrested on the charge of conspiring to engage in sexual activity with two young children. The police also have charged him with making, possessing and distributing indecent images of children.

Watkins reportedly had in his procession animal pornographic images. The offenses committed were between May 1 and December 17, 2012. And the pornography charges are between August 12 and December 17, NME reported.

 Watkins appeared in the Cardiff court sporting a black hoody and did not speak any word during the 90 minute appearance. His mother was also present at the court hearing.

Along with Watkins two women aged 20 and 24 have also been arrested. The court rejected the bail application of all the three.

Lostphophets was formed in 1997. There have released five studio albums. Their last album "Weapons" was released, April 2, 2012. The band has sold 3.5 million albums.
