USA's 'Complications' Spoilers: Jason O'Mara, Jessica Szohr, Matt Nix Premiere 2 Back-To-Back Episodes!
After months and months of teasers and previews, Complications arrives on USA Network with its season premiere. From Burn Notice creator Matt Nix, watch two compelling episodes of Jason O'Mara (Life After Mars) and Jessica Szohr (Gossip Girl) back-to-back tonight.
As we previously mentioned, Dr. John Ellison (Mara) is a suburban doctor who used to be at the top of his game in the emergency room. Outside of work, Ellison is dealing with the emotional effects of his daughter's death. With the loss of his daughter, Ellison suddenly finds redemption after he saves a young boy's life from a drive-by shooting. Gretchen (Szohr), a street-smart ER nurse, is caught in the middle when Ellison becomes involved in a gang war.
The concept for the show came about after the Burn Notice creator volunteered at a hospital and witnessed a gang member break into his Echo Park home.
We also mentioned, Entertainment Weekly has an exclusive sneak peek of the pilot's first 15 minutes.
WATCH the the first 15 minutes of Complications here:
In an interview with Backstage, Mara describes the difference between Complications and Burn Notice, "[Those characters] were experts so they could afford to be confident and sexy and believe they were going to save the day, whereas John Ellison and his family are not comfortable in this world they have been sucked into mostly against their will. There are recognizable tropes-drugs and gangs and guns are being shot and cars are being chased-but it's done in such an original way."
The Terra Nova actor teases the upcoming episodes, "A lot of shows start off with great auspices and sort of derail. And Complications got more on point every episode; more compelling, more exciting, more addictive. There was something pure about the experience. We shot all 10 episodes without having an airdate so we were just in this bubble, and now it's time to deliver our baby into the world!"
Complications premieres tonight on USA Network on June 18.
