Mick Jagger, Robbie Williams, The Beatles Considered For New 10 Pound Banknote Honor in UK
UK is considering honoring The Beatles, Mick Jagger, Robbie Williams on their 10 pound bank note, NME reported.
UK's national bank, the Bank of England has released a list of 150 of the greatest Britons who have been suggested by the public to be the face of the new notes when they are printed, The Mirror reported.
The list of other greatest Britons also includes English author, William Shakespeare, Second World War time Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill, Soccer player David Beckham and Princess Diana. IT is reported they might feature in the new F- series notes.
Suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst, TV stars John Cleese, Michael Parkinson and Terry Wogan; scientists Stephen Hawking, Sir Alexander Fleming and World War 2 codebreaker Alan Turing were also part of the public suggestions. Turing was persecute for his homosexuality and died in 1954 aged 41. Cricket's Michael Vaughan and rugby's Jonny Wilkinson also find a place.
"It's certainly an intriguing list of suggestions and reflects the wide variety of talented people the nation considers worthy of recognition," said a source.
Robbie Williams's ninth album "Take The Crown" and single "Candy" reached the number one spots. The last time this happen was in December 2001.
