USA 'Complications' Spoilers/Ratings: Chris Chalk Teases Darius Bishop In Episode 3 Premiere!
Complications continues on USA Network with Episode 3, starring Jason O'Mara (Life After Mars) and Jessica Szohr (Gossip Girl). With the ratings gaining momentum, Before tonight's episode, Chis Chalk (The Newsroom) discusses playing gangster, Darius Bishop, who's stuck in a business he can never leave.
As previously mentioned, Dr. John Ellison (Mara) is a suburban doctor who used to be at the top of his game in the emergency room. Outside of work, Ellison is dealing with the emotional effects of his daughter's death. With the loss of his daughter, Ellison suddenly finds redemption after he saves a young boy's life from a drive-by shooting. Gretchen (Szohr), a street-smart ER nurse, is caught in the middle when Ellison becomes involved in a gang war led by Darious (Chalk).
In an interview with NBC News, the Gotham actor discusses how Darius compares to Ellison, "Similar to the doctor, when you have to protect your family, you'll do anything, and Darius's "family" is the kid and his "boss" is EZ. It's not from a place of fear, it's from a place of loyalty that he protects the kid, protects the gang, protects his family, and he'll go to any lengths. He doesn't necessarily have the same vocabulary or weaponry as the doctor, but he uses what he has-his boys, his gang, and his intellect-to get the job done. He'll do anything... absolutely anything."
Chalk adds, "Darius to me is a guy who loves who he loves, needs what he needs, and he's just limited by his circumstance. All of us love something and need something and once we figure that out, it's just about being a human."

According to Deadline, the USA drama performed slightly better in demos and clocked in at clocked 2.78 million total viewers in the ratings department.
