No Velvet Revolver Reunion Plans, Says Slash, Does Not Plan To ‘Reconnect’ With Scott Weiland
Frontman for hard rock supergroup Velvet Revolver separated from the band in 2008, only to come back for a one-off one night gig in Jan 2012. Weiland had in an interview with Rolling Stone spoke about the possibility of Velvet Revolver reunion, November 2012. But band member and lead guitarist Slash thinks it is just a trick from Weiland and quells all possibility of the band having a reunion.
"None of us have a clue what he's talking about ... We're not buying it," Slash said. He revealed that since Weiland was fired from Stone Temple Pilots, he now wants a job in the band.
"I think he's trying to pull off that trick of trying to get something else going on and we're not buying it," Slash said. "The door's shut on this side and it's probably shut on that side too, so he's on his own. And he deserves it too." The guitarist adds, "It also pisses me off because he's put STP through so much s- over the years and put us through s- too when we were working with him. In 2008, that was all over with, so at this point, when he starts coming up with this stuff, it's like, whatever."
"Even if I didn't have my solo thing going on, I still wouldn't work with him," Slash added dispelling all doubts of reunion plans.
The band includes Slash, Dave Kushner, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum. Scott Weiland having left the band in 2008.
