The Dark Knight III: The Master Race: Andy Kubert, Klaus Janson Join Frank Miller Comic Book!

The comic book industry was changed forever by The Dark Knight Returns in 1986, and DC Entertainment aims to do that again with the latest installment. Renowned artists Andy Kubert and Klaus Janson are teaming up for The Dark Knight III: The Master Race, from creator/writer Frank Miller (Sin City) and co-writer Brian Azzarello (100 Bullets).

As we previously mentioned,The Spirit writer/director made the announcement on Twitter, stating, "I hope that by now my silence is deafening." After the climatic events from DK2, is Bruce Wayne ready to put on the Bat-Suit one more time? The final chapter of The Dark Night trilogy promises to be, as Co-Publishers for DC Entertainment, Dan DiDio and Jim Lee put it best, an "astounding and triumphant conclusion."

According to the official DC Entertainment website, The Master Race will be an eight-issue conclusion, to be published monthly under the DC Comics imprint. Within each 32 page installment, there will be a special 16 page "Dark Knight Universe" comic included. The entitled "Dark Knight Universe" comic will feature a rotating cast of special guest artists and characters.

Dan DiDio and Jim Lee, Co-Publishers for DC Entertainment states, "We went into this knowing that we had to give fans more. We're pulling out all the stops to deliver an amazing conclusion to this exciting body of work. We hope it inspires the next generation of writers and artists, the way it has already inspired us."

According to Andy Kubert, "Frank Miller and Brian Azzarello have crafted such an incredible story for DKIII, as I am truly honored to be associated with them, this project, and Klaus Janson. We, along with the fans, are in for a great ride!"

Janson adds, "Any opportunity to work with Frank Miller is a happy occasion for me. When we add the talents of Brian Azzarello and Andy Kubert to the mix, we have the ingredients to achieve something truly memorable. This will be amazing!"

Just in time for the 30th anniversary of The Dark Knight Returns, the third installment is slated for release sometime in late Fall 2015.
