Jenna Coleman has caused some anxiety in the past when it comes to her character's future on Doctor Who, but it looks like Clara Oswald is in for yet another wild ride in 2015's season nine episodes. Will she make it out alive for a new season? Will she leave the Doctor before the Christmas Special? What does Jenna think of Game of Thrones actress Maisie Williams playing an important character in the upcoming season, according to the trailer? Jenna spoke with ComicBookResources about the new season of the popular BBC series during the Comic-Con events. We learned a lot more about the companion Clara Oswald and details of the new episodes.
"I think since she's lost Danny, she's kind of cut ties a little bit to Earth, her perspective has changed," Coleman said of Clara's change from last season to these new episodes. "And all she wants to do is travel and have fun and meet some aliens and enjoy everything time and space has to offer. So it's kind of a freedom and an adrenaline-seeking high that she's always running towards, which obviously creates some danger along the way."
When it comes to special guest star Maisie Williams, though, Jenna isn't saying much.
"She was brilliant and the three of us have a really good dynamic," she gushed about her new costar. "Peter [Capaldi] was so outnumbered. It was brilliant! And the three of us we recently went to the Glastonbury Festival and we taught Peter some new cool terminology. I was trying to be cool the first day she arrived. I think she's brilliant and sharp and honest and just really cool as well. We've kind described her performance as metamorphic."
