Lindsay Lohan Drunk Driving Allegations; Denies She was DUI While Filming 'The Canyons'
Lindsay Lohan was allegedly drunk driving on the set of the low-budget feature "The Canyons."
The news was revealed in a piece by The New York Times aptly titled "Here Is What Happens When You Cast Lindsay Lohan in Your Movie" that was published on Jan. 10 by Stephen Rodrick.
"Lindsay Lohan moves through the Chateau Marmont as if she owns the place, but in a debtor-prison kind of way," wrote Rodrick, who followed director Paul Schrader and cast for the duration of filming.
Rodrick claimed that Lohan was repeatedly late to work when she chose to appear on set, which caused her to be fired before screaming for her job back. She also apparently freaked out over a four-way sex scene that she signed off on in her contract.
The biggest allegation that Rodrick made in the piece was that Lohan was drunk at times while driving on the set of the campy erotic-thriller.
The 26-year-old actress reportedly thought Rodrick's piece was a fairly accurate portrayal of her actions, but she denied she was drinking and driving, sources told TMZ. The insiders said she told her friends that while much of Rodrick's article was accurate, she was not partaking in any drinking on the set, including a daily post-shoot drinking session with the director.
Lohan has a troubled past with filming movies.
She allegedly got on the bad side of producers of "Scary Movie 5", who had to send maintenance workers to fix broken features in her room as well as a clogged toilet, according to another TMZ report. Lohan denied the allegation and her friends said the trailer was trashed before she arrived.
The film's producers were also upset over Lohan's work ethic since she failed to appear on set for the first day of shooting. However, Lohan said she was late because her doctor did not want her to fly since she had walking pneumonia.
