The Strain The Night Eternal #11

Dark Horse Comics

Second season of The Strain has just made its way on FX. This critic is a huge horror fan, so throw me a vampire any time! The final installment of Guillermo Del Toro's The Strain trilogy makes its way to comic book readers. Watch the show and read the comic!

Robin: Son of Batman #2

(DC Comics)

As a normally avid reader of all Bat Family titles, it is sad to say that I have no idea what the hell is going on with Damian Wayne - or is it Damian al Ghul now? Whether you love him or hate him, you cannot deny that he has always been an interesting character.  As far as I know, within the last two years, he has died, resurrected, gotten superpowers, lost them later on, and is dealing with his father's death (again). Despite all my nagging, this series is a great way to catch up with the Boy Wonder.

Black Canary #2

(DC Comics)

The first two issues of the new Black Canary series have actually been promising. The writing and art are on point as well as the plot is intriguing. This interpretation of Dinah is very different,  since she is now a touring rock star with a reputation for getting into fights.  This series has the true potential to please long-time fans of the character and bring in new readers.

Revival #31

(Image Comics)

We love Tim Seeley's work in Grayson, which is why we at MStars support his indie/creator-owned comic, Revival. The dead have come back in a small town and they're not going away anytime soon.

Rating: Must Buy

Captain Marvel and the Carol Corps #2

(Marvel Comics)

This series is the definition of girl power!  With an early Cold War drama feel to it, fan favorite Carol Danvers is joined by an all female group of fighter pilots. Readers of Captain Marvel will recognize several members of the Banshee Squadron. Carol is suffering from amnesia and the Carol Corps try to help her figure out where she is from.
