Kanye West 'All Day/I Feel Like' Video By Steve McQueen Premiering At LACMA
A new video by 12 Years A Slave director Steve McQueen and rapper Kanye West is having its American premiere at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) on Saturday. The video, All Day/I Feel Like That was originally shown at the Louis Vuitton Foundation at Paris Fashion Week. The short film includes West's hit song "All Day" along with another single from his upcoming album, supposedly titled, SWISH.
The nine-minute film will be shown for four days only at LACMA. It was filmed in a single shot at the Chatham Dockyard in southeast England. West is the focus of the video, which shows him running like he's being chased.
This isn't the rapper's first foray into the arts world. Along with creating a clothing line for Adidas and making notable appearances at fashion weeks around the world, West put out the short film Runaway in 2010, which features music from his album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. West directed that piece, which included memorable visuals, peaking with a ballet scene set to the titular song. This spring, West was given an honorary doctorate from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
McQueen, who also directed Shame, already has a piece on display at LACMA. "Static" is a digital projection he made in 2009. The premiere of All Day/I Feel Like That reportedly came about after McQueen was invited to give a public talk at LACMA, but instead he gave the museum the video.
West's SWISH is expected to be released this year. Earlier this month, someone posted a possible leak of the album on Reddit, along with a track list. If the leak is true, the album will feature collaborations with Paul McCartney, Big Sean and Bruno Mars.
