Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton Divorce News: 'Mama's Broken Heart' Songstress Canceled Concert
MStars News has learned that country music songstress Miranda Lambert canceled a 2015 concert in Calgary, Canada, several weeks ago, claiming that she was sick, but now it appears that was the time her now ex-husband, Blake Shelton decided to file for divorce. What was the real reason the "Mama's Broken Heart" singer backed out of the performance?
According to Us Magazine, records showed that Shelton's laywers filed for the divorce in Oklahoma on July 6. Lambert was scheduled to perform at the Saddledome on July 9, but canceled her show on July 8, two days after her husband wanted to call it quits.
Earlier this month, Lambert claimed that she was unable to sing because her vocal chords were strained from inflammation.
"I can't believe this is happening, I am sure most of you heard the news about the show in Calgary having to be rescheduled due to my vocal issues. Thanks for all your posts and well wishes, I promise I will do everything to get better quickly!" Lambert wrote to her fans on her blog.
"I am so sorry that I can't be at Stampede this week, but I'll be back in Calgary just as soon as I can for all of my Stampede fans," she added.
Paul Rosenberg, the concert's operating manager promised ticket holders that the Calgary show would be rescheduled.
"We understand that this news is disappointing for fans. We will know more about rescheduling the concert later; in the meantime, we hope that fans use their tickets for admission to Stampede and enjoy all that we have to offer- including live country music at Nashville North," he said in an official statement.
By July 20, Lambert and Shelton revealed that they were spliting up in a joint statement.
"This is not the future we envisioned," the former lovebirds said. "And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately."
The singers already finalized their divorce and agreed to the terms of their prenuptial agreement. A judge signed off on Monday, July 20.
A source claims that Shelton is "really broken up" and "just devastated" after the marriage went wrong. Another source claims that his ex-wife was "heartbroken, sad, and confused."
On Wednesday, Shelton took to Twitter and revealed that he was back at work in his chair on The Voice.
"Back to work filming @NBCTheVoice today. Wonder if I'm gonna be the only one who rolls in a full ice chest....?" he wrote.
According to TMZ, Lambert claims that the hit NBC show was the reason for their split, along with cheating. A source explained that Lambert felt like an "abandoned wife" because her husband was working all the time in L.A. while she was at home in Oklahoma.
But if you think Lambert is the only one citing cheating for their marriage troubles, her ex is claiming that she too was unfaithful.
So sad that this country love story ended on a sour note.
