Philadelphia Man, William Clark Beats And Throws Woman Onto SEPTA Subway Tracks [Graphic Video]
A Philadelphian man was arrested who pushing a woman onto a subway train tracks at a Chinatown station. The frightening ordeal was caught on a surveillance camera.
According to Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority police, the incident happened around 3:30 p.m., when the an approached a 23-year-old woman and asked to use her lighter and later viciously attacked her, punching, dragging, and throwing her onto the subway tracks. In the video you can see the man reach into her purse and take her cellphone and calmly walk away.
The victim managed to climb onto the platform before an oncoming train arrived, "By the time I zipped my jacket back up, that's when he was on me, on my neck," the unidentified victim stated, "I was just telling him, 'I don't have no money,' and he was just like, 'Shut up.' She added, "I started trying to fight him back, and kick just as much as I could. And he grabbed me by the legs." the woman said. "He seemed fine, he didn't seem like he was crazy."
SEPTA Police Chief Thomas Nestell says the girl is lucky, "Thank God she wasn't knocked unconscious in that track area," Nestell said. "It's also good she didn't touch the electrical third rail: "If you touch that third rail, you die."
The suspect, William Clark, was arrested around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, still wearing the same multi-colored jacket with Taj Mahal on the back when he attacked his victim, "It was so distinct that we tried to keep the description of that jacket in law-enforcement circles, because it was our best lead on clearing this," Nestel said.
Authorities say Clark is mentally challenge and has a previous criminal records.
